Patricia Botos

Patricia "Pat" Botos, of Middletown, peacefully passed away on July 28, 2016, with her loving family by her side. She was born on August 6, 1933 in Jacksonburg, Ohio, the youngest of three children to Charles and Alice (Specht) Heiland.

She is survived by her sister, Phyllis Soliday; her children, Greg (Becky), Kim (John Minor), Kristi (Steve Gaston), Doug (Sue), and Tracy; grandchildren, Lisa, Brian (Laura Beth), Cindy (Jess), Stephanie (Zach), Amy and Kate; and cherished friends, Walt & Carolyn Simkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Lee; and her husband, Lou.

Pat & Lou met while both were involved in competitive roller skating, married and had five children. Pat was completely devoted to her family. She was a stay-at-home mom, volunteering in the school cafeteria and as a room mom. She was hired by Middletown City Schools in 1977 and worked for 26 years as the Principal's secretary at Middletown High School, an Account Payable clerk in the Finance Department, and ended her career with a job that she truly loved as the secretary to the Athletic Director of Middletown City Schools. During that time, she also spent countless hours volunteering for the marching band program at Middletown High School from 1968 - 1987. She served in numerous capacities for the band boosters, and designed and made the color guard and field commander uniforms for several years. An avid seamstress her entire life, she took great pride in all of her creations. These included costumes for Middletown Lyric Theatre, christening dresses, first communion dresses, bridesmaid dresses for her daughter's weddings, and wedding dresses for her niece and her daughter-in-law. As a close family friend said after her passing, we can all rest assured that Pat is now getting things organized in heaven.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Father John Civille officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Private entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum at a later date.
