Matt Marcum

Matt Marcum, 64, of Middletown, died Saturday August 4, 2007 in Cambridge, Ohio. He was born in Columbiana, Ohio on June 7, 1943 to parents John and Mary (Howard) Marcum.

Matt worked as a truck driver for over 40 years and was the owner & operator of Marcum Transportation and Rigging. He was an avid NHRA fan, car owner and driver. He loved to fish, especially with his grandson and enjoyed collecting guns. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose #501 and Eagles Aerie #528.

Mr. Marcum is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Billy) Murphy of Middletown; son, J.C. (Heather) Marcum of East Liverpool; two sisters, Lavon (Jim) Jackson of East Liverpool and Verna Brum of Cooksville, TN; two brothers, Donnie Marcum of East Liverpool and Charles (Kay) Marcum of Cooksville, TN; four grandchildren, Marie Murphy, Mark Murphy, Jordan Marcum, & Sammy Marcum; and many nieces & nephews, including a special nephew, Jimmy Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gene Marcum, John Wayne Marcum, and Lawrence Marcum; and sister, Mary Ellen Marcum.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 1:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Hence Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 12:00 Noon - 1:00 pm.
