Lena Martin

Lena Martin, 80, of Middletown, died Saturday September 3, 2005 at her residence. She was born March 30, 1925 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky to parents Isaac and Julie (Barker) Lewis.

Mrs. Martin was a great cook and gardener.

She is survived by her sons, Larry Martin of Stephenville, TX, Jerry Martin of Gratis, Leonard Martin of Jacksonville, FL, and Melvin (Mary Jo) Martin of Middletown, daughters Sharon Martin of Middletown, and Maxine (Joe) Lara of Glen Rose, TX. 18 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 15 great great-grandchildren, best friend Marilyn Howard, and Ina Lewis who is more like a sister than a sister-in-law.

Lena was preceded in death by her husband Rev. Arthur Martin, her parents, 2 grandsons Scotty and Steve Martin, great grandson Devon Allen Martin, brothers Elmer, Bill, Leonard, and Linville, sisters Rosie, Carrie, Ivory, Gladys, and Annie, daughter-in-law Joyce Martin.

Funeral services will be Wednesday September 7, 2005 at God’s Lighthouse Church, 3013 Seneca St., at 1PM with Rev. Kenny Angel. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday September 6, 2005 from 5 to 8PM. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
