John Smith

John Smith, 69, of Middletown, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, at his residence. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 2, 1937 to parents John Smith and Della (York) Gaubit.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of the United States Air Force and had retired from Sorg Paper Company.

John is survived by his wife, Christy (Heller) Smith; six children, Mark Smith, Dan (Patricia) Smith, Ray (Kathy) Moore, James Thomas Moore, Lori Landes, and Alena Gale; sister, Janis Barbour; four grandsons, Jesse Core, Cody Core, Bryan Core, and Scott Hartman; and mother-in-law, Mary Heller.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Ann Parks.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice Care of Middletown, Christy’s angel, hospice nurse Mary Ann, friends and staff of Mt. Pleasant, Diana Kiss, Tonya & Fay Carol Family, & Christopher Dawson.

Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 9, 2007 at 6:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 4-6 pm.
