James Thomas Pleak

James Thomas Pleak, 82, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at Mercy Franciscan Western Hills Hospital in Cincinnati. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 31, 1923 to parents Benjamin Plick and Violet (Stamper) MacDonald.

Mr. Pleak served his country on board a U.S. Air Force B-24 bomber during World War II in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations. He was a lifelong member of Grace Baptist Church, having served as usher and deacon. He was owner and operator of Pleak’s Service Station for 55 years, retiring in 1998.

Mr. Pleak is survived by one daughter, Pamela Pleak Arrington of Tulsa, OK; three sons,
James T. Pleak Jr. of Houston, TX, Thomas S. Pleak of Austin, TX, and Timothy A. (Karen) Pleak of Cincinnati, OH; two brothers, Robin (Wanda) Pleak of Sun Lakes, AZ, and Barry (Rita) MacDonald of Centerville, OH; four grandchildren, Shawn A. Arrington, Leigh Ann M. Arrington-Jones, David S. Pleak, and Jordyn Pleak; 7 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia A. (Rossi) Pleak and his wife of 45 years, Phyllis J. (Owens) Pleak; father Benjamin Plick; mother Violet MacDonald; and step father Chester MacDonald.

Private Services were held at the convenience of the family, with interment at Grace Memorial Gardens.
