Herbert J Cottrell

Herbert J Cottrell, 85, of Middletown, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Garden Manor Retirement Village. He was born in Middletown on August 3, 1926 to parents Lorenzo and Hattie (Hill) Cottrell.

Herbert worked as a benefits clerk for Armco Steel Corp. for over 20 years. He served his country in the United States Army and Navy during both World War II and the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Cottrell is survived by his wife, Kazuko (Ota) Cottrell; son, Kazuo Cottrell; daughters, Daryl (Scott Jelen) Cottrell & Karen (Alonzo Lipscomb) Cottrell; brother, James Cottrell and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Helen C. Thornton, Lucy Perrin & Magdalene Blackburn and brother, David Cottrell.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
