Grace Smith Hines

Grace Smith Hines, 90, of Middletown, died Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Willow Knoll Retirement Community. She was born in Barboursville, Kentucky on August 9, 1912 to parents Daniel & Margaret (Jackson) Swafford. She attended the Church of God.

Grace was preceded in death by her first husband G. Harrison Smith in 1962; her second husband, James Hines in 1981; her parents; her brothers Berchel, Lloyd, & Forrester Swafford and sisters Nellie Willis, Mae Silvers, Ann Henson, and Mollie Bowling.

She is survived by her sons Elbert (Charlene) Smith of Ft. Payne, Alabama and Thomas (Nancy) Smith of Middletown; daughters Barbara (George) Lewis of West Liberty, Kentucky and Rhonda (Arnold) Fugate of Madison Township; nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Monday, November 25, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr. with Reverend Robbie Conn officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at St. John's Cemetery in Trenton.
