Edna Mae Spicer

Edna Mae Spicer, born in Clark County, KY on October 11, 1930 to parents Dillard & Nora (Cole) Proffitt, grew up in Frenchburg, KY, and lived in Franklin, OH all of her adult life, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, at age 85.

She has been married to her best friend and wonderful husband, Roy Spicer, for almost 65 years. He was her ever-present supporter and champion the last 18 months while she lived at Bickford of Middletown. During earlier times, they had been very involved in the harness racing world for over 30 years. Their best stallion was Common Art - "Arty". Edna and Roy attended Towne Boulevard Church of God.

Edna leaves behind her husband, Roy Spicer; son, Marty (Susan Little) Spicer of Franklin; grandchildren, Nate (Sarah) Little of Cincinnati and Mindy (Donnie) Schrock of Carlisle; great grandchildren, Eleanor Little and Dillon Schrock; as well as other loving family members, Lorena "Sissy" (Raymond) Williams of Mt. Sterling, KY, Warren "Junior" (Betty) Profitt of Middletown, Georgia Spicer, Carma Spicer, Charlie Spicer, Lavada Spicer, Rachel Marie Hudson, Earl & Helen Spicer, Norm & Jean Vincent, Shirley & Ollie Strong, Thelma Spicer, and many precious nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at 12:30 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Edna's nephew, Reverend Jim Profitt of Carlisle First Church of God, leading the service. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am – 12:30 pm. Following the service she will be laid to rest at North Monroe Cemetery.

She need suffer no longer – She has been called home to the arms of her Lord.
