Donall George Spears

Donall George Spears, 65, of Franklin, died Sunday, June 7, 2015, at Atrium Medical Center. He was born in Middletown on June 6, 1950 to parents Donall L. and Barbara (Adrion) Spears.

George worked with the Middletown Fire Department for 22 years as a firefighter/paramedic, as well as union secretary. He retired in 2002. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. George was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and was very active with the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of The Father Charles Mentrup Council 14400, where he served as Deputy Grand Knight, Grand Knight and was a 3 year/2 year/1 year trustee. He was also a member of the Father Nicholas Schneider Assembly 3188 where he served as Color Corps Commander, Faithful Navigator, Faithful Admiral and was chapter Vice President. He had helped to start four councils of Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Spears is survived by his wife, Mary (Mobley) Spears; brothers, David T. (Donna) Spears & Alan M. Spears and his many nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 115 S. Main Street, Franklin with Father Jim Manning as celebrant. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Knights of Columbus service at 7:30 pm. Military honors will be conducted by the Franklin VFW Honor Guard at the church following Mass.
