Dexter Howard

Dexter Howard, 82, of Middletown, died Tuesday, November 7, 2006, at Middletown Regional Hospital. He was born in Jackson, Kentucky on November 7, 1924 to parents Patrick and Shilda (McIntosh) Howard.

Mr. Howard worked as a pressman for Interstate Folding Box Company for 25 years, retiring in 1978. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 218. He was a member of West Middletown Church of God, where he served as a deacon. Dexter was a very friendly person, who loved his family and grandchildren.

Mr. Howard is survived by three daughters, Frances (John) Lovely, Sue (Larry) Wills, and Sharion (Donald) Schwab, all of Middletown; a son, Ernest (Jane) Howard of London, OH; five grandchildren, Marlinda (Jed) Duff, Donnie (Lori) Schwab, Francie Howard, Dexter (Jaime) Howard, and Dennis (Bert) Baker; and four great grandchildren, Tiffany Laverne Lovely, Kelly Bunn, Benjamin Schwab, and Macey Howard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dixie (Oaks) Howard; his parents; brothers, MC, Henry, Jessie, & James Howard; and sisters, Della Hensley, Rosie Haddix, Gracie Gross, & Martha Potter.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2006 at 9:30 AM at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, with Pastor Hence Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
