Chad Edwin Fugate

Chad Edwin Fugate was born on February 25, 1976 in Middletown. He was granted his angel wings on December 14, 2015 at Atrium Medical Center. He was the son of Colleen Johnson and Darius Fugate.

Chad was a victim of cerebral palsy from birth. He fought the good fight. His mother often referred to him as her little Gideon (a mighty warrior). Chad lived as normal a life as possible. He attended school and at the age of 5 (1981) he was selected as poster baby on the cover of the Warren County United Way brochures. On special teams for the handicap, Chad played baseball, participated in Boy Scouts, in addition he also graduated from Fairfield High School. He enjoyed family trips on houseboats, camping and traveling around the country with his mom.

Chad leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Colleen Johnson and step father, Roy Johnson of Monroe; his father, Darius Fugate Sr. and step mother, Corrina Fugate of Middletown; his beloved brother, Darius Jr. and his wife, Lori Fugate of Middletown. Chad was also blessed with a special niece, Blaine Fugate and an amazing nephew, lil' Darius; as well as his very close and devoted extended family and staff of Kensington Place too numerous to mention by name for fear of leaving someone out.

Chad's family would like to acknowledge with grateful honor Dr. Stephen Moore who has consistently walked this journey with us for the past 18 years. Dr. Moore you are a healing physician not just a Doctor. Thank you. Our family has sustained a great loss and wishes to thank all of you who have been so kind to us with your courtesies and condolences. Your kindness and prayers have been most comforting to us. We are deeply moved and grateful for your concern, your love and sharing our grief. Thank you and God bless each of you.

Funeral service will be held Monday, December 21, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Valerie McCann officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
