Betty Jane Spies

Betty Jane Spies, 89, of Monroe, died Thursday, July 16, 2009, at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Middletown on June 3, 1920 to parents Clyde F. and Margaret (Root) Combs.

Betty worked as a cashier for Middletown Public Schools for 30 years.

Mrs. Spies is survived by her sons, Michael (Patti) Spies and Steven Eric (Joyce) Spies; daughters, Janice Margaret (Frank) Troutvine and Lois E. Donisi; six grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard S. Spies in 1983 and her parents.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with Reverend Herman Emmert officiating. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
