Ann Farrell Bidwell

April 18, 1925 — June 20, 2009

Ann Farrell Bidwell of Middletown, Ohio passed peacefully Saturday, June 20, 2009 in her home surrounded by those she loved most, her beloved husband and family. She was born in Old Forge, PA. on April 18, 1925 to parents John and Genevieve (Klink) Farrell.

Ann was a graduate of The Julliard School of Music in New York City and was a protégé of the Prima Dona of the Metropolitan Opera. She did extensive concert work prior to her marriage January 6, 1951 to Arthur William Bidwell, Jr. After completing his tour of duty with the United States Army in Korea, the couple moved to Middletown, Ohio. She served for many years as Corporate Secretary of Magnode Corporation and remained a vital member of its Board of Directors. She was active in her children's education and extracurricular activities. She served the community, particularly as a member of the Board of Middletown Fine Arts and the Middletown Symphony. She was very involved in her Catholic faith and Parish, initially St. Mary's Catholic Church and then Holy Family Parish, as Chairman of the Parish Council, a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the Choir and a Minister of the Eucharist.

Mrs. Bidwell was preceded in death by her parents and brothers John and Joseph Farrell.

Ann is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Arthur Bidwell, Jr., her 7 children Arthur III, John, Marianne (Walter), Martin, Joseph, Kathleen (Gramke) and Reverend Michael Bidwell; her 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; her brother Martin Farrell and her sister Mary Farrell Goins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Holy Family Parish- St. John's Church, 1405 First Avenue, Middletown – Celebrant Archbishop Daniel E. Pilarczyk, Con-Celebrant Reverend Michael L. Bidwell. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown. Entombment will be at Woodside Mausoleum.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Care of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420-1885.
