Winnie Cooper

Winifred Faye “Winnie” Cooper, was born to Floyd Napier and Lillie Mae (Jones) Napier on March 10, 1938 in Cromona, Kentucky. On Saturday, August 25, 2018, at the age of 80, and surrounded by family, Winnie returned to God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Gary L. Cooper; brothers, Wallace Napier and Junior Napier; sister, Alberta Robinson; daughter, Lilly May Crow; and son, Gary Lee Cooper Jr. Surviving her, in loving memory, include her sons, Donnie (Linda) Crow, Mike (Joni) Crow, Randy (Becky) Crow; daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Flack, Lora (Tyler) Brown, Vicki (Tom) Monce, Cindy Whiteman, Karen Bretches; as well as her brother, Alan (Sharon) Riddle. In addition, Winnie’s life was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

Winnie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a strong woman of faith who raised her family, was actively involved in the family business, and spent many happy days attending church and working with her church family in a variety of roles. Winnie was a dedicated pet owner, raising countless cats, dogs (with a particular fondness for Yorkies, Schnauzers, and Dalmatians), as well as an African Grey she taught to whistle "Jesus Loves Me", and more. Her favorite collections, beyond children and pets, included angels, Nativity sets, and red glass vases. Her love of family holiday celebrations, especially Christmas, knew no bounds! Her generous spirit, and compassion for family and friends is an inspiration and will be missed by all.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Jon Young officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. Interment will be at Butler County Memorial Park.
