Joseph Lyons, Jr.

Joseph F. Lyons Jr, 81, of Middletown, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at home with his loving family. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on February 23, 1937 to parents Joseph F. and Katherine (Baney) Lyons.

Joe was a graduate of Duquesne University. He served his country in the United States Navy, serving on the USS Forrestal. Joe moved to Middletown in 1974 to work for Akers Packaging, retiring as General Manager in 2002. He was an active member of the community and of Holy Family Parish.

Mr. Lyons was a wonderful father and Pap. He is survived by his five children, Joseph (Angela) Lyons, Duffey Lyons, Maureen (Mark) Lehman, Monica (Robert) Cummins & Therese Lyons; brother, Mark Lyons; sisters, Kathleen (Al) Hamel, Margaret Lowen, Nancy (Al) Stefan & Patricia White; and six grandchildren, Bart, Matt, Thomas & Daniel Lehman, Will & Jon Cummins. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary Lyons; and daughter, Bridgid M. Lyons.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10:00 am at Holy Family Parish - Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown with Father John Civille as celebrant. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. at Bonita Dr., Middletown.
